queercuts

“Need/want a haircut?”
“Yup!”
“Want to hang out with rad queers and allies while giving back to the community?”
“Yeah!”
“Come to Queer Cuts for a Cause!”

We started this thang in June and hosted the first ever Queer Cuts for a Cause which raised over $750 for RECLAIM! Over 30 people got their hair cut and many more came out to support. We’re doing it again and going for bigger and better! More hair stylists! More cuts! More support for a rad cause!

For those that don’t know or need a refresher, Queer Cuts for a Cause is a night of haircuts and hangouts to benefit a local LGBTQ organization. Trans Youth Support Network (TYSN) will benefit this time.

TYSN’s mission is to promote racial, social, and economic justice for trans youth, with the freedom to self-define gender identity and expression. They also provide gender/trans accessibility trainings for local youth services to increase access for trans and gender non-conforming youth.

Alternative haircuts and trims are the focus so we can get through everyone who wants a cut.

$15-30 sliding scale to benefit Trans Youth Support Network (www.transyouthsupportnetwork.org)

There will be:
*skilled stylists!
*a photo booth!
*music!
*games!
*munchies!
*drinks!
*friendship!

Bring:
*cash!
*your beautiful self!
*friends!
See you there!

The funds raised by Hops for Harmony will be used for: crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, community education, and outreach.
