Fresh Fruit is the nation’s longest running queer radio program in the country. It can be heard every Thursday at 7pm on KFAI 90.3FM Minneapolis and 106.7FM St. Paul.

On Thursday, July 31, Fresh Fruit host Norman Norman Strizek interviewed Frank Schaefer, a senior pastor at a Methodist church in Pennsylvania. Schaefer officiated the wedding of his gay son and his son’s partner, a move that got him “defrocked” by the Methodist church. He was later reinstated by a church in California. Schaefer’s story is one where faith and family get caught up in the battle for equality and the show is well worth a listen.
