Former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe announced on Tuesday that he plans to sue the NFL team after the team failed to release the results of an investigation into allegations of rampant homophobia in the ranks of management. Sen. Scott Dibble sent a letter to Vikings’ owner Zygi Wilf on Tuesday asking the Vikings to release the report.

“Given the sizable amount of taxpayer funds provided to the Vikings for the construction of your new stadium, it is crucial that your organization be held to the highest standards of tolerance and inclusion,” Dibble wrote. The state of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis are paying $500 million for a stadium to replace the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis.

“I received assurances in person from several leaders in the vikings organization that this value is shared by you and your top management team,” Dibble wrote. “It was promised to me that a free, fair and open investigation would be carried out.”

Dibble added, “Kluwe’s allegations raised very serious concerns about the culture and types of behaviors that are tolerated or fostered. As a business partner with the state of Minnesota, I expect your organization to release the results of the investigation, that decisive action be taken against those responsible, and that strong steps be taken to implement internal cultural and policy changes, should his claims found to be credible.”
