April is going to be a busy month for Seraphina Nova co-founder of Candid Theater Co.) as the company debuts the world premiere of her new play “Dogwood” and the launch party for Seraphina’s novel “Another Stone To Carry”

Tell us about your form of art, performance or work.

We thrive on creating theater that addresses current social and political concerns.

Where and how can the general public view, participate in, or purchase your work?

Dogwood a rich and touching story about a dysfunctional family coming together for an obligatory gathering that turns out to be more eventful than any of them had imagined. In Dogwood, we meet three adult children still nursing the scars of childhood, and their aging parents who seem to not be aware of the damaged adults their children have grown into.


“Dogwood” is at once shocking, touching, and funny. As the story unfolds, demons surface, and tempers are lost, and we slowly come to realize that many of the secrets that members of the family were keeping, were in fact not secrets at all.
