Spring Back: A Cabaret on Resilience
Resilience is a springing back into life. It is renewal, revitalization, regrowth, rebirth. It is flexibility, adaptability, and elastic strength. Resilience is remembering how to stay grounded, and how to come back to our power so that we can take on new challenges. Resilience is what we need so that we can take risks. It is realizing our worthiness so that we can continue to move forward, so we can lean into our lives and our communities. Resilience is a joyful bounce, a lighthearted leap, a face toward the sun.
The University of Minnesota’s Transgender Commission is a coalition of students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members working for equity, access, and liberation for people of all gender identities and expressions, led by trans*, genderqueer, and gender non-conforming people across the U of M and local Twin Cities community.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for new solo and collaborative work from emerging and established artists in a variety of genres: video, theater, experimental performance, music, spoken word, storytelling, puppetry, comedy, fashion design, dance and movement work, drag, burlesque, and more!
Because we know art ain’t free….
For this production, each artist will receive a stipend of $150. (If you do a performance with 4 people, your crew as a whole will receive the same amount of money as someone who does a solo piece.)
We’re open to a wide range of concepts related to the theme of resilience.
