Major GOP donors are pressuring Minnesota lawmakers with money, according to the Associated Press:

American Unity PAC was formed last year to lend financial support to Republicans who bucked the party’s longstanding opposition to gay marriage. Its founders are launching a new lobbying organization, American Unity Fund, and already have spent more than $250,000 in Minnesota, where the Legislature could vote on the issue as early as next week.

Sen. Matt Schmit, a DFLer who is undecided on the marriage equality bill is getting hit with mailers by opponents of marriage equality. The flier attempts to pit the Twin Cities metro against the rest of the state.

At their wedding, Natasha Frost and Tony Friesen honored Natasha’s sister who is a lesbian and has been in a committed relationship for more than seven years but cannot marry in Minnesota.

“When Tony asked me to marry him I was so excited because I got to say yes and have a big celebration,” said Natasha. “I wanted to give them the bouquet in the hopes that Minnesota lawmakers will actually recognizes the right for everyone to marry in Minnesota and we’re hoping that happens this year so we can celebrate the final sister’s wedding.”

Marriage equality supporter and Vikings player Chris Kluwe will be the Grand Marshal at this year’s Twin Cities Pride Parade.

Minnesota for Marriage and the Minnesota Catholic Conference sent letters to legislators from several conservative religious leaders.

Derick Schultz, a student at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, created a documentary about marriage equality called “Now Is the Time, This Is the Year.”

A former staffer for former Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Brian McClung, announced his support for marriage equality and urged fellow Republicans to do the same.
