ascension

Besides our website, ncgaylaxians.org, join us on Facebook under North Country Gaylaxians, https://www.facebook.com/groups/196936024304/.
About our topic, _Ascension_, FROM AMAZON.COM: Alana Quick is the best damned sky surgeon in Heliodor City, but repairing starship engines barely pays the bills. When the desperate crew of a cargo vessel stops by her shipyard looking for her spiritually-advanced sister Nova, Alana stows away. Maybe her boldness will land her a long-term gig on the crew. But the Tangled Axon proves to be more than star-watching and plasma coils. The chief engineer thinks he’s a wolf. The pilot fades in and out of existence. The captain is all blond hair, boots, and ego… and Alana can’t keep her eyes off her. But there’s little time for romance: Nova’s in danger and someone will do anything – even destroying planets – to get their hands on her!
ABOUT JACQUELINE KOYANAGI: I live in an apartment in urban Colorado where I spin stories out of caffeine and sheer force of will. They’re all science fiction and fantasy, because let’s face it–the world is better with spaceships and monsters in it. My stories also feature queer women of color, folks with disabilities, neuroatypical characters, and diverse relationship styles, because I grew tired of not seeing enough of myself and the people I love reflected in genre fiction. When I’m not writing, I weave chainmaille jewelry, play with my dog, spend time with my romantic partners, and read.

Future 2015 discussion topics: Troll by Johanna Sinisalo, May 12; The Kappa Child Hiromi Goto, June 9; Steam-powered: Lesbian Steampunk Stories, ed. by JoSelle Vanderhooft, ed, July 14. There will also be panel discussions at CONvergence in July.
