Devon Strouss, the man accused of shooting two people at the 19 Bar in October, pleaded guilty to 2 counts of second degree assault in connection with the shooting. He also pleaded guilty to an additional count of second degree assault in connection with a stabbing at a St. Louis Park gas station in early January.

On Oct. 15, 2014 at around 9:30pm, a man with a dog was escorted from the 19 Bar for being intoxicated. The bar manager closed the bar door behind the suspect, and the suspect fired 6 shots through the closed door, hitting the bar manager and a customer. Both were taken to HCMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

Strouss was arrested two days later, and released from custody after posting bail. He was arrested again in connection with a stabbing in St. Louis Park.

Fox 9’s Aaron Rupar wrote about that incident:

The victim said he was attempting to sell marijuana to Strouss and his girlfriend, and had met with the two in his vehicle for that purpose. But when the victim showed Strouss the marijuana, he attempted to steal it, and an altercation that spilled out of the car ensued.
After the two split up, Strouss, 23, headed back to his vehicle.
“Believing that [Strouss] was going to get a gun, victim began to get into his vehicle,” the complaint says. “[Strouss] came up behind Victim as he was getting into the vehicle and stabbed him in the back. When victim turned towards [Strouss], [Strouss] stabbed him again in his thigh.”

Strouss will be sentenced on Feb. 11 and could serve up to 72 months in prison.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said in a press release on Monday: “I know this case caused the Loring Park neighborhood a great deal of concern, and I personally visited a business group there to answer their questions. Involved neighborhoods are vital in reducing crime and prosecuting those who commit crimes. We hope the neighbors are as pleased as we are with this relatively swift resolution and expected prison sentence.”
