Twin Cities Pride Art Exhibition accepting submissions through Friday

Artists who want to submit their work to be displayed as part of the Pride Art Exhibition have until Friday to do so.

A juried exhibition, the Pride Art Exhibition is accepting applications for inclusion through May 2. This year’s theme is titled “Free to Be” in honor of the “diverse identities that make up the Twin Cities LGBT community,” according to the TC Pride application instructions. “We ask the artists to draw inspiration from the concepts of FREEDOM and SELF IDENTITY. Show us through your artistry what FREE TO BE means to you.”

Those pieces chosen for the exhibition will be shown starting June 13 at the Twin Cities Pride Grand Marshal Reception at the Aloft Hotel. Aloft (a sponsor of the exhibition along with RBC Wealth Management) will select 4-5 works to remain on display in the hotel lobby throough July 18, and all other works will be displayed at the Pride Festival in Loring Park at the end of June. Pieces selected by the jury will receive a cash award.

Jury members include:

Scott Stulen, MFA, Painting & Drawing (University of Minnesota-Twin Cities), Curator of Audience Experiences and Performance, Indianapolis Museum of Art
