Republicans make strange claims about porn in anti-bullying debate

Republicans took to the House floor last Tuesday in an effort to derail the Safe and Supportive Minnesota Schools Act. That effort was unsuccessful and Gov. Mark Dayton signed the bill into law on Wednesday.

One of the key themes that Republicans offered in opposition to the anti-bullying bill was that provisions for curriculum containing pornography or sexual health information was included in the bill. As chief author, Rep. Jim Davnie, DFL-Minneapolis, pointed out, those claims were not true.
